First communion in Quiroga
I left hostal early to get to Cuicocha lagoon before mighty sun could heat its water surface. It was Sunday morning and young ladies dressed in white as brides shown up in the main park of Quiroga, small town near Otavalo. They were about to receive their first communion. The surprising part of it that the girls had the same type of clothes as we do have in Europe for this occasion.
Cuicocha Lagoon
Then I took a direct taxi from Quiroga and got to the Cuicocha lagoon. It am not very good describing general facts abou places I visit so I prefer to tell you that there was not many people at the lagoon. I looked for pleasent place to observe the nature around me. It was a bit cold and windy as its atitude is around 3 200 meters above sea level. According to the legend, gods chose Cuicocha lagoon to hold their meetings during solar cycle. The lagoon was converted into their sanctuary and its name means “Lagoon of the Gods”.
