Being a coffee picker for a day


What is so hard about picking red coffee cherries? It doe not seem so difficult until you try it and realize that is quiet tough because of mosquitos, bees and other various bugs than wish pick you when you disrupt them on their coffee environment. And sometimes it happens that sun is too strong or that rain is too heavy. You can not choose the weather, you have to keep on because this is your job if the weather is good or not.

I became a coffee picker for a day.  You get paid depending on how many kilos of cherries you have picked, In my case, I would have been paid a little, my basket was just half-full (or half-empty ??? 🙂 )

Coffee picking and its pickers is makes a part of photography project called Coffee Passport, Colombia.

In Colombia, coffee picking is done manually without help of any machine as they do in Brasil so imagine how tough it is. Discover more supporting this project here:
